I personally believe that finish powder is as important as the liquid base. Regardless how expensive and long lasting your foundation/bb cream is if it is not properly set by a good finish powder, it will still end up as a big patchy mess on your face. I read from another beauty blogger how amazing Canmake’s Marshmallow Finish Powder is. We almost have the same skin type so I trusted her recommendation. And I’ve been wanting to get something from the Japanese side.
First thing I’ve noticed is the packaging. It’s so cute. It kinda gives you the Sailormoon feeling you get when you were younger. I’m a sucker for pretty and girly packaging for makeup so I am really happy to have this. It also comes with a mirror and a cotton puff.
As per Canmake Instagram page, Marshmallow Finish Powder is made up of 72% mineral ingredients and promises a marshmallow-like texture and finish. It mattifies, conceals lines and pores, sets makeup, retouches makeup and nourishes the skin with 10 skin care ingredients like Aloe Vera Leaf extract, Rosemary extract, Chamomile extract, Lemon extract, Horse Chestnut extract, Shiso Leaf extract, Squalene, Jojoba, Olive and Grapeseed oil. It also protects with SPF26. It’s also free from paraben, mineral oil, tar-based pigments, surfactants and fragrance.
My thoughts? Aside from the princessy packaging, it’s also cute that it’s called “marshmallow” powder. It gives you the impression that it’s smooth, soft and fluffy.
I tried this on top of all my liquid bases and I love how it mattifies and sets my makeup well. It’s fine and light. It felt nothing. I also noticed that my face is not as oily (of course with the help of primer) whenever I use this. It also appears that it works better with Korean bb creams.
Since it is a finish powder, the coverage is just light. It is only meant to set and fix your makeup. This actually became my favorite and used it for one straight week. I also carry this with me on my daily makeup kit because I just like how easy to retouch using this product. Puff puff puff and mattified face again.
I also like to commend the saleslady who assisted me when I purchased this (wasn’t able to capture her name). She helped and was so patient with my questions-since Canmake is a new brand that I’m trying. She also recommends other products in an educational and not annoying way. I was also given samples of Mermaid Skin Gel (sunscreen and primer in one) and Be My Baby BB Cream upon my purchase.
Price: Php790 for 10g, Canmake, Landmark
I will definitely buy that Mermaid Skin Gel because it was so amazing when paired with my Laneige BB Cushion. I’m also interested with their cream blushes and lip plumpers.
