Lush Cosmetics Mask of Magnaminty Review

I have to admit that I purchased this mask because of the hype. I read a lot  of good reviews and it is always, always sold out. On top of that I was so much attracted that it’s MINT. So one lucky day, I was able to grab my own jar. It comes in two sizes but I only bought the smaller one.

As per the label, it is a face and back pack. It is a peppermint mask that does everything it can to fight eruptions and outbreaks and return your skin to tip top condition.

Ingredients include: Honey, Ground Aduki Beans, Bentonite Gel, Kaolin, Talc, Glycerine, Evening Primrose Seeds, Peppermint Oil, African Marigold Oil, Vanilla Absolute

This mask also includes paraben. I know some girls who stay away from this ingredient.

I was advised by the sales person from Lush to use this only 2-3 times a week. I have like 3 other masks on my skincare stash but I’m using this since I purchased it because of the expiration date. I bought mine last April and didn’t notice that it will expire by July. So that’s around 3 months only. Good thing, I was not tempted to get the big tub because it would be such a waste if it hits the expiration date.

The mask is creamy and green. I love the scent. It’s like mint chocolate chip.

I put in on my face for around 10 minutes and wash it off like a face scrub. It has a very cool sensation that kinda stings on my face. I noticed the instant brightening effect after first usage. I also use this as a spot treatment everytime I get a pimple because it instantly calms the redness.

The version that I got is the Self-Preserving formula. Unlike the normal fresh masks, they say you don’t need to refrigerate it. But base on my experience after a month of putting it in a room temperature storage, the masks starts to go hard and begins to crumble. So I still end up putting in in the fridge to make sure.

What I like about this product (and all other LUSH items) is that they are cruelty free. It is also handmade and the jars are recyclable.

Overall, I found this very effective in preventing breakouts. However, it expires too soon. I want to try other lush products such as the bath bombs and their moisturizers.

Price: Php425, Lush Cosmetics, SM North
