Smashbox, I believe is one of makeup brand to pioneer the primer concept. They’re face primer have sold millions and is being recommended by most professional makeup artists in the world. No doubt that they will also come up with their version of eye shadow primer.
I initially purchased this last November and wrote a small review on my instagram page. I’ve been using this almost everyday and I feel like my IG post does not justify how amazing this product is. Most beauty bloggers swear by Urban Decay Primer Potion but this primer easily becomes a contender in a much cheaper price.
According to Smashbox, this studio- tested eye primer can withstand Yoga Classes to after- hour cocktails with your girls. It promises 24 hour staying power, intensifies color, sweat and humidity- resistance, and prevents creasing, color transfer, and smudging.
How to Use?
Apply a thin layer to bare lids. Wait 30 seconds, then apply shadow. However, the packaging says to wait for at least a minute.
I wasn’t able to show you the box because I already threw it away. The product is in a tube packaging.
The texture is more of a silicone. It gives a translucent sheer finish. What I do is I put a very little amount because putting more makes blending the eyeshadow hard. It sometimes leave a white line if not applied evenly.
I love this primer because almost all eye shadows become 100% more pigmented than without it. It really does intensify the color of the eyeshadows. Honestly, even drugstore eyeshadows are pretty justified with the help of this primer.
For longwearing test:
So I apply my makeup at least an hour before going to work and I have 9 hours office time and I travel back home for another hour. So to summarize, I spend more or less 12 hours sporting my eye makeup. It works exactly like the UDPP for me. It keeps my eye makeup intact for at least 6-8 hours. No tragic creasing or fading. I love it because I’m not really the type of girl who has the time retouching eyeshadows.
