Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control No.23 Sand Beige Review

Cushion products are dominating the beauty scene, as most of the brands are releasing their own version one by one. No doubt, as the cushion concept is new and very innovative. It also makes foundations and bb creams compact and travel-friendly.

My first ever cushion is from Chico Y Chica, but I didn’t quiet use it because the shade that I bought is lighter than my natural skin tone.

I am so happy to finally own the bestseller cushion from Laneige. I am a big fan of Song Hye Kyo, the brand endorser. And Laneige is one of the pioneer of the cushion concept for makeup. There is also a whitening version but I picked the pore control one.

The packaging is a bulky box that houses the cushion compact itself, plus one extra refill which is also for 15g.

The design of the cushion is nothing fancy- no designs, just the name of the product. It also includes a mirror and a puff applicator (which has antimicrobial properties).

As per the product description:

My thoughts?

Semi Matte Finish? Yes, more of a natural looking glow. Love it. The shade that I picked also matched my skin tone (I am NC40). There are a lot of shade options that you can choose from, mine is No.23 Sand Beige that is perfect for warm undertones.

Long Lasting? I used this with a primer and it definitely lasted the whole day. Very minimal touch ups!!

SPF50+PA+++? Good to know that this product also gives you protection from the sun. But me, I still use a sunscreen underneath this base to make sure that I am fully protected from the harsh effects of the UV rays.

Cooling Sensation? Not much. But I don’t bother.

Pore Coverage? YES. It really hides away enlarged pores. But doesn’t really conceal some dark spots and pimple marks.

Pore control? Not noticeable. Maybe with continuous use.

Other bloggers say that it can stand alone without setting it with a powder. For me, to achieve best results, set it with an oil control powder and spritz some face mist to retain the dewy effect.

Tip: Make sure to always close the cushion compact when not in use to avoid getting dried out.

Sadly, I purchased this before they release the 2016 version. The packaging is fancier on the latter.

Overall, this is my current to-go face base because it’s easy to apply and the glow I get is priceless. Definitely an HG product!!!
