My all-time favorite bullet lipstick will always be MAC Taupe. The contender, which has a very slight difference will be the best seller shade from Gerard Cosmetics which is 1995.
Are you a fan of Youtuber Jaclyn Hill? This particular shade is a collaboration with her.
As per the website:
Get inspired by the neutral nudes of the 90s. Inspired by the 90s grunge revival and the beauty trends of an unforgettable decade, this iconic creation is a matte but creamy lip color that isn’t trendy but a timeless expression of glam.
The lipsticks comes in a gold bullet, a refreshing take from all of my black lipstick bullets (MAC). I love it because it gives the high-end touch to the products. It is very classy, elegant and pretty. The brand name is also printed on the tube.
I originally bought this during one of their website sales when you can get three bullet lipsticks for $20. I also purchased shades Mystic Moon (satin) and Tequila Sunrise (matte).
I let go the other two shades because Mystic Moon doesn’t look good on my skin tone and Tequila Sunrise has a little factory defect. I am a little sad about this, but I still kept my 1995.
It has a butter vanilla scent that I love!
For the texture, 1995 is a true matte lippie. Some bloggers says that it can be drying for them, but it works fine with me. It is smooth and applies effortlessly on the lips. It is not creamy or cakey like other matte lipstick brands.
For the shade, 1995 looks so pretty on my morena skin. My mestiza friend also tried it and it is equally pretty. I love the brown undertones softens any makeup look. It is the perfect shade to wear in the office or even night outs.
Staying power is comparable to MAC matte lipstick. It stays 4-5 hours without fading.
I also love that it is Cruelty Free. Another factor that I am starting to consider when buying beauty products.
Price: $20 for 3 lipsticks, paid Php1500 from an online seller so Php500 each
I want to try the Hydra Matte version of this shade, will be updating you girls.
