Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Review

I bought this mask while I am still finishing my Lush Mask of Magnaminty. Many bloggers out there say that it gives the same experience like the former, so I guess I have to try it.

This one is available only in Healthy Options. The moment I saw a branch in Alabang Town Center, I made myself sure that I will grab myself a tube. The packaging is the new and improved design. If you want to know what it looks like before you can google it.

As per the label, it instantly absorbs excess oil, extracts impurities and helps minimize the appearance of pores.

Ingredients: Aqua, Kaolin, Bentonite, Glycerin, Zinc Oxide, Propylene Glycol, Mentha Virdis, Leaf Oil, Sulfur, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Limonene, Fragrance, Chromium Oxide Greens

One word to describe this mask is it is very identical with a toothpaste. How you squeeze out the product from the tube, it feels like you are squeezing out a toothpaste. From the packaging to the texture, down to the scent, you will get the feeling of using a toothpaste.

For the formula, I like that it is smooth and can be applied easily to the face. It also dries down to a tighter and cracked state. It has a very cool feeling that instantly refreshes not only your face but also your mood. I usually let it sit on my face for around 10-15 minutes. I wash it off by a lukewarm water.

Like the Lush mask, I use this 2-3 times a week, or whenever needed. I also read that some beauty gurus use this as a spot treatment. I have to try that next time.

My thoughts?

After using this mask, my face feels deeply cleansed. I also have this little tightening feel after. It is very obvious that oil and residues were absorbed by the product. Though  it doesn’t really strip out the blackheads from your pores, it leaves your skin smooth, bright and oil-free.

If you have an oily skin, this is perfect for you. If you have dry skin, it may not work the same way. Sometimes I only put in in the areas where I break out.

The best part here is you get a big tube of 227g product for only Php395. You really need a little amount of the product to cover your whole face.

Overall, I recommend this mask for all girls who have oily skin.

Update: I heard that Healthy Options already pulled out this product because of the paraben content. So sad! Not sure where to get it next time.

Price: Php395, Healthy Options
