Colourette Boss Babe Starter Pak Review

One of my favorite local Youtuber is Michelle Dy. She is such an entertaining and funny person and I call her “ate” all the time in my instagram because I feel like she’s my long lost sister.

She just recently collaborated with Colourette Cosmetics and created a line of limited edition lipstick sets. Of course, I need to get one!!! The names are so quirky and the shade combinations are on point. I got two sets actually, but today I will review the Boss Babe set.

I’ve been seeing Colourette lipsticks making waves in Instagram and this is the first time I have a chance to try them.

The Boss Babe set comes with two lipstick shades namely: Georgia and Monroe (which is both from the their Chocolat collection) + Uno lip primer which I will be reviewing separately.

The packaging is similar to Inglot – black sleek tube- but it’s lighter in weight and has a more plastic feel.

As per the website:
Made with all natural actives like Vitamin C and E, Collagen, Hyalauronic acid, Jojoba oil, Shea butter, Grapeseed oil and Avocado oil, this functional lipstick plumps, moisturizes and hydrates the lips while keeping it vibrantly beautiful.

Georgia – cordovan pink

-this looks like a rosy pink with brown undertones, can be worn from day to night, flattering shade for morenas

Monroe– summer auburn coral

-reminds me of MAC Chili but is more on the orange side, i think this will look good better on fair skin, too loud for morning use.

My thoughts?
The finish of the coloursticks are creamy matte. It also has a slight caffeine scent (or cocoa I’m confused).
It can last around 4-5 hours- this is without eating. And is best used when you apply the Uno Lip Primer before it.

I love that it is very pigmented. One swipe is almost enough.

My concerns about this product:
-it leaves an uneven stain on your lips even though you wiped it off with a makeup remover
-there is a heavy feeling when worn and I am not sure if it’s just me but it has a stinging effect right after you removed it.

Overall, I love the concept of the lipstick packs. I hope they will focus more on the formula to avoid the unwanted tints and heavy feeling. But aside from that, they are affordable and have a lot of shades to choose from. I just checked their website and they are offering new sets (and liquid lipstick too).
